Preko is a small town located on the island of Ugljan. The town’s infrastructure is made up of typical Dalmatian architecture (country houses, preserved untouched nature, beautiful Mediterranean landscapes, and crystal clear water with both sandy and rocky beaches). Numerous bays provide ideal opportunities for sports such as sailing, surfing, water skiing, and snorkeling. You will experience the Mediterranean at its best while you take a stroll along “Lungomare” or by sipping on your favorite drink from a terrace overlooking the Zadar channel.
Ugljan is the closest island of the Zadar archipelago, located directly across from the city of Zadar, and separated by a channel only a few miles wide. Ugljan is connected to Zadar with numerous ferry lines. Green Island is Ugljan’s nickname because the island is covered in dense pine trees, olive trees, fig trees, grapevines, and other kinds of Mediterranean vegetation.
Throughout the Northeastern side of the island are little bays for fishing and tourist centers. Some of the most popular spots are: Kukljica, Kali, Preko, and Ugljan. The other side of the island contains mostly steep hills and uninhabited bays. This part of the island, with its rich undersea world, is a real challenge for divers and sports fishermen.
Fans of Mediterranean landscapes can enjoy the unforgettable panoramic view from the Venetian fortress Saint Mihovil (XIII century). Early human evidence in this area remains from Roman times. This prehistorical evidence includes church complexes, monasteries, island stone architecture, and numerous villas. The island is mountainous yet gentile and it is perfect for walking and cycling tours.
Rocky and sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, a variety of accommodation options, and original culinary experience are only a few reasons to visit and stay on this island and in Eden Villas.
